Neil Miller-Chalk, General Manager Dolphin House
Neil is General Manager of Dolphin House. In January 2006 he oversaw the refurbishment of the Dolphin Square Hotel which re-opened as serviced apartments. Neil followed his success with the launch of Dolphin Square Sports and Fitness Club as well as the refurbishment and re-launch of The Bar and Grill.
The Spa in Dolphin Square, London SW1, is Neil’s latest vision. After developing an interest in Hammam culture over various trips to Marrakech, Neil wanted to bring his Moroccan experience to London. He fused ancient spa rituals with modern touches to deliver an authentic luxury Moroccan inspired spa that caters to the needs of the urban community.
Catherine de Villiers, Spa Manager, The Spa in Dolphin Square
Catherine is no stranger to the London spa scene, having successfully opened and created the five star spa environment at Hotel Verta in London last year. She brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to The Spa in Dolphin Square. Prior to this, Catherine held the position of Assistant Health and Fitness Club manager at London’s iconic Langham Hotel.
Lisa Knowles, Spa Consultant, The Spa Set
Lisa has gained a respected reputation in the industry, having worked at the premier end of the spa market on many prestigious projects in the UK and overseas. Projects have included the first European-style spa in New South Wales, Australia to the five star Langham Hotel, London, award winning Rockliffe Hall and Wynyard Hall, Darlington due to open Winter 2011 as well as developing ‘signature treatments’ for an international spa brand, now in use worldwide.
Lisa helped bring Neil Miller-Chalk’s vision to life by selecting a mix of product houses and treatments that would cater for a diverse range of client’s needs whilst staying true to the Moroccan concept. Drawing on her vast experience, Lisa hand-picked a selection of product houses and treatments that achieve a perfect balance between rituals, traditional treatments and results-driven skincare.
Daniel Rouah, Celebrity Barber
Originally from Paris, Daniel has a glittering celebrity client list including Richard Branson, Chris Evans and Phil Tufnell. Daniel has also worked with high-end brands such as LVMH, Louis Vuitton and Gillette. Since opening England’s first skin care salon in 1980 Daniel has gathered a vast amount of media experience with 300 TV and radio appearances and countless contributions to style and grooming publications.
Daniel is passionate about pioneering the grooming experience for males as well as females and has trained The Spa in Dolphin Square’s own therapists in the art of the Wet Shave.
Alex Probyn, Master Tea Blender, Blends For Friends
Alex is a classically trained Master Tea Blender who has worked in the tea industry since the late 1990s – having begun his career for Tetley (UK’s largest tea brand) before setting up a specialist tea business – Blends For Friends Ltd – in 2006. Alex is a world expert on blending tea having created over 13,000 new flavours/blends of tea. He has given talks on tea in 15 countries and appeared on many live TV and Radio programmes in both the UK and overseas. Alex has crafted nine Moroccan inspired teas exclusively for The Spa in Dolphin Square.
Richard Comley, Club Manager, Dolphin Fitness Club
Richard first cut his teeth in the business world working in the food retail industry. Following a decision to make a career change he went back to study sports, exercise and personal training. He then embarked on a career within the fitness industry as a Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Fitness Manager working for some of the industry leaders in the Midlands and London After 5 years in Personal Training, Richard decided to combine the skills he had learnt from his time in the retail industry and move into the management side of the health and fitness industry.
He joined the team at Dolphin Square in 2008 and has successfully developed the onsite health club into a thriving independent business. Richard is a keen triathlete and marathon runner and regularly competes in competitions around the UK.
David Propert, Osteopath, Calmer Clinics
David is a pioneering Osteopath with practice experience spanning 20 years, he is an expert ‘generalist’ treating a diverse range of patients from elite athletes, musicians and performers, to babies, children, pregnant women and typical office-workers. His approach is patient-centered aiming to reveal and address the underlying causes of issues in an holistic way.
David has a background in Human Physiology and joined the faculty of the British School of Osteopathy in 1995 as Physiology/Pathology lecturer and Clinic Tutor. He has presented lectures in Italy, Spain and North America and appeared on radio as well in publications including GQ, the Evening Standard and FT. David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in health and wellness to guests at The Spa with mind and body treatments.
